Nigerian Senate Suspends Bill that will Validate JAMB result for 3years

This is a heart breaking news for some students and candidates who are thinking that their results will last for three (3) years, pending when they will be able to secure admission within this period. Find out what caused the change of mind...

The National Assembly before now was rumoured to have increased the validity of JAMB results to 3 years so as to reduce the financial burden on parents, students and JAMB as well but that didn't go down well with some bodies and stakeholders in the education sector. They see it as one sided and lack proper consultation.

On Wednesday, the Senate suspended the amendment of Act establishing the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board so as to allow for adequate consultation with stakeholders.

According to the Senate, bills are passed not for the interest of some individuals but the larger society and as such, until proper consultation is done, the bill to amend the validity of JAMB UMTE remains suspended.

Now, here is my problem with the Senate:
Why are they talking about consultation now? Why was it not done in the first place before raising the hopes of students and parents?
Now, they have suspended the Bill again without consultation...for how long are they going to be experimenting with the destinies of Nigerians?

Let me take you back a bit...You remember what Universities and JAMB did during the last Post-UTME screening? Most students wasted their money registering for the screening...some spent up to 7K before the schools arrived at a flat rate of 2.5k.

My advise: They should settle their differences before they start new enrolment. This time that nonsense will not be tolerated!
